At Derby YMS, an optional examination syllabus is available for all our lessons which enables students to obtain recognised qualifications from elementary to advanced.

Our keyboard and piano lessons are affiliated with TrinityGuildhall whilst guitar, drums and vocal lessons with Rockschool.
Both these music colleges are fully recognised by the QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) which means that higher grades are awarded UCAS points which may help students get into university.

All keyboard courses support the framework of music in the National Curriculum to GCSE and 'A' level (Standard and Higher grades in Scotland) and are ideal for acquiring all the skills necessary for these exams.
